Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership and Technology Integration:
  • Drive the strategic direction of the operations as the company scales from pilot to commercial
  • Collaborate with the CTO to achieve and sustain the technology roadmap for scaling, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Operational Excellence:
  • Expand refining operation capacity through strategic planning and execution.
  • Build out and optimize the refining operation, establishing foundational processes and protocols.
  • Develop and manage the operations team, fostering a high-performing, adaptive work culture.
  • Manage contractors involved in refining processes, facility construction, and real estate.
  • Drive continuous process optimization for enhanced efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Implement effective inventory management strategies.
  • Manage budgets in a start-up landscape, identify and capitalize on cost-saving opportunities.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance:
  • Implement and enforce stringent safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive quality control management system.
  • Work towards obtaining ISO 9001 certification for the highest standards of quality.
  • Supply Chain Management:
  • Oversee supply chain and sourcing strategies, ensuring reliability and efficiency in raw material procurement.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree (Master’s or MBA) is a plus.
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within refining operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of metallurgical processes, extraction technologies, and industry best practices.
  • Strong understanding of safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements in the mining and metals industry.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
