Menlo is looking to grow its Finance team with a newly created role to work closely with portfolio companies to regularly gather, analyze, and report on relevant financials and metrics, to gauge and track success and health of each. Working directly with the Assistant Controller, you will have a unique opportunity to gain visibility into the data and decisions that drive high growth companies, as well as helping to maintain management company accounting records.

Responsibilities will include:

■ Develop relationships with portfolio companies to gather pertinent financial data

■ Distill and communicate valuable data insights to internal stakeholders

■ Assist with accounts payable and expense reporting functions

■ Create portfolio wide benchmarks for use both internally and externally to support current and future investments

■ Integrate portfolio information into quarterly investor reports

■ Work closely with Menlo’s finance team and investors on ad-hoc projects

What we’re looking for

■ High-achieving, self-starter with extensive financial modeling skills and high proficiency in Excel

■ Strong skills in database implementation and management

■ Knowledge of business growth strategies and the risk/return characteristics of VC and/or PE backed companies

■ Demonstrated ability to distill data insights in a concise and effective manner

■ Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills

■ Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build effective working relationships

■ Uncompromised commitment to confidentiality and sensitivity to privacy

■ Ideal candidate has 3-4 years of experience in Finance/Accounting including experience working internally with a fast growth tech company
