Heap is in need of a savvy Senior Accountant who can work the swing shift to help scale our finance department with business needs. This person will work closely with the Assistant Controller to complete accounting-related work that’s necessary to align with strong company growth.

At Heap, this means you will:

• Review and code credit card transactions
• Prepare journal entries for month-end close
• Prepare detailed account reconciliations
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies
• Prepare monthly/quarterly flux variance analysis
• Prepare accrual schedule and journal entry for month-end close
• Assist with audit and tax compliance requests
• Help document, implement and maintain appropriate accounting policies, processes, and internal controls.
• Assist the accounting team with month-end journal entries & suggest improvements, as necessary
• Work with external departments around finance-related inquiries. Our customers are our employees!

30/60/90 Day Plan

Within 30 days, you will:

• Take ownership of important accounting processes, including account payables, cash reconciliations, expense reimbursements, credit card reconciliations, accruals, and deferred revenue entries
• Help close the books within 7 business days
• Perform all of the above autonomously

Within 60 days, you will:

• Help close the year within 10 business days
• Assist with audit and tax compliance requests

Within 90 days, you will:

• Continue to own respective areas of responsibility with minimal supervision
• Provide feedback on process improvements, where applicable

What we’re looking for:

• Experience with accounting month-end close with ownership of areas including AP, cash reconciliation, prepaids, fixed assets, and credit card reconciliation
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment & work autonomously
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• (5+ years of experience required); NetSuite ERP experience preferred
• Experience with financial statements and ability to understand technical accounting concepts and topics
• Ability to work a night shift in this fully remote position
