What You’ll Do Here

You are a senior-level accountant with 5-7 years of experience in general accounting processes and procedures, in-depth account reconciliations, and conducting analysis of compiled data. You are savvy when it comes to hunting down all the information required to complete reports, and willing to adapt and change as the business scales. You are a self-starter who is motivated by the challenge of taking your knowledge and using it to improve upon current reporting and create and execute robust and detailed reports for a rapidly growing line of business. You are skilled in adapting to change and consistently seeking ways to add value to the organization. You are naturally analytical and curious by nature, and fastidious in researching data to help others make informed decisions.

  • Collaborate with internal departments to gather, analyze, and interpret relevant financial information.
  • Prepare journal entries, month-end closing procedures and tax returns
  • Reconcile accounts with the general ledger
  • Support month-end and year-end close and audit preparations
  • Gather and maintain documentation to support financial records
  • Perform Internal Control
  • Support financial and regulatory audits
  • Analyze financial data and reports and perform variance analysis
  • Prepare financial statements, balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other reports as needed.
  • Train and mentor junior staff
  • Develop recommendations to optimize accounting systems and procedures
  • Ability and willingness to maintain confidentiality.

What You Bring

  • 2+ years of experience with title and escrow duties.
  • Understanding of escrow processes, real estate transactions, and regulatory requirements in Illinois.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to quickly assess situations and make decisions.
  • Ability to organize, analyze, and distribute information. Must be able to spot and address irregularities or issues.
  • Able to handle confidential information and documents.
