As a Senior Software Engineer II, AI Insights, you'll have the opportunity to push our product in new directions while also shaping the next iterations of the features our customers already love. You'll define the future of core pieces of our backend across areas like our data model, large scale syncing and processing of data, and building infrastructure to deliver AI models at scale. From back-end algorithms, async workers to scalable applications to cloud infrastructure, you'll hone your skills across multiple domains while helping to drive forward the Affinity product and vision.

• You take pride in delivering high-quality and powerful products to customers while also championing technical excellence.
• You have 8+ years of experience as a software engineer, including familiarity with the different pieces of technology involved in building modern web applications.
• You have experience writing server-side code leveraging modern OOP practices using Ruby and PostgreSQL
• You have a comprehensive understanding of relational databases and the ability to design and implement systems that scale and avoid performance bottlenecks.
• You've helped your teams to solve high-scale challenges, to integrate systems and have extensive experience building automated pipelines to process data at scale.
• You’ve built real time event streaming and messaging services and have integrated them seamlessly into products from the back end infrastructure to front end clients.
• You have an interest in and previously delivered small scaled machine learning projects to production, and have an understanding of how to deploy to cloud platforms like Vertex AI and AWS Bedrock.
• You're excited to work collaboratively within engineering and as part of a cross functional team from Product and Design to Machine Learning to deliver AI features at scale.

Tech stack

Our platform is built with React and TypeScript on the front end, and with Ruby and PostgreSQL on the back end. Our infrastructure is hosted by AWS and runs on Kubernetes.

A reasonable estimate of the current range is $141,000 - $186,000 CAD. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
