About You
You are an enthusiastic researcher who is passionate about display and drug discovery. You have a degree in biology or biochemistry, and have prior experience with phage display and cell-based assays.
You have serious grit, excellent documentation skills, are eager to employ and master new techniques, and are committed to reproducible and rigorous scientific practice. Collaboration comes naturally to you, and you thrive in a fast-paced environment where pushing the boundaries of what is possible is the norm.
What You'll Do and Learn
- Generate phage displayed libraries of potential protein therapeutics.
- Grow and manage cell lines, clone libraries, and independently run panning campaigns.
- Make binders from these campaigns, taking them forward into downstream binding and functional assays.
- Manage complex sets of reagents to run campaigns.
- Help innovate new screening technologies to improve functionality and overall workflow.
- Be a part of a dynamic and experienced problem solving team bringing together AI and protein biochemistry.
Minimum Qualifications
- 4+ years of laboratory experience (preferred industry experience).
- 1+ year experience screening and/or generating phage display libraries.
- Experience with at least one of the following:
- Molecular biology (primer design, Gibson, Golden Gate, ligation, DNA manipulation)
- Protein Assays (ELISA, western blots, dot blots, indirect immunofluorescence or luminescence)
- Demonstrated ability to improve protocols to yield more reproducible/improved results.
- Bachelors in Molecular and/or Cellular Biology, Biochemistry, Structural Biology, Protein Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or similar field.
- Flow cytometry experience.
- Antibody, protein expression and purification.
- Eukaryotic cell line handling (Cell line maintenance).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present results of their work to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bacterial culture/general microbiology knowledge strongly preferred.
- Experience with high throughput assay development.
- Familiarity with protein developability and biosensors.
- General knowledge of NGS sample preparation.
- Experience with liquid handling and automation workflows (Hamilton, Bravo, etc).
- Experience using LIMS and Benchling.
- Experience setting up and configuring lab facilities and processes.
Compensation
The specific compensation package for this role depends on experience, qualifications and level. We anticipate the compensation range to be $92,000 to $135,000 per year.
