About The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and exceptional Genomics Core Research Associate to join our dynamic team at Xaira Therapeutics and contribute to our functional genomics research. The selected individual will be tasked with performing a wide range of NGS and molecular biology techniques. We are seeking a colleague who is curious and rigorous, someone who shares our passion in genomics methodologies and their application in biological research.

You are a dedicated professional with a strong background in molecular biology and next-generation sequencing (NGS) techniques. You have experience working in genomic labs or core facilities, with proficiencies with LIMS systems, automation equipment and standardized workflows. You work well in collaborative settings, tackling complex challenges with your team. Your commitment to advancing scientific research is clear in your work ethic and goals. What You’ll Do And Learn

  • Perform high-quality NGS library preparations to support research projects, including single-cell and bulk genomics experiments. Optimize protocols for efficiency and effectiveness
  • Operate, maintain and troubleshoot NGS instruments, ensuring optimal performance and data quality
  • Assist in molecular cloning (large screening libraries), cell line engineering and lentivirus production
  • Work closely with diverse research teams including computational biologists to assist in experiment design, planning, execution and data interpretation
  • Collaborate with automation engineers and research biologists to design and implement robust and scalable workflows, thereby increasing the efficiency and throughput of genomic analyses
  • Uphold strict quality control standards and maintain detailed and accurate records of experiments and results to guarantee the integrity and reliability of data
  • Contribute to lab organization and inventory management

Qualifications

  • B.S./M.S. with a minimum of 1-2 years of work experience in Functional Genomics, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a related field
  • Demonstrated expertise in Illumina NGS technologies, RNAseq library preparation (both single-cell and bulk), molecular cloning, cell engineering and lentivirus production
  • Hands-on experience with operating, maintaining and troubleshooting various illumina sequencers
  • Familiarity with large screening library cloning, lab automation and/or mammalian tissue culture is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

Compensation

The specific compensation package for this role depends on experience, qualifications and level. We anticipate the compensation range to be $60,000 to $111,000 per year.
