About The Job

As a Facilities & Equipment Specialist on the Operations team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of all facilities and equipment within Xaira Therapeutics. You will be responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance, and calibration of laboratory equipment, as well as managing the general upkeep of the facility to ensure a safe and productive work environment.

Your hands-on experience with maintenance management software and tools, along with your ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues swiftly makes you an invaluable asset to our team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine preventive and corrective maintenance, and calibration of laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to schedule and oversee maintenance, repairs, and installations.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory and data in database/CMMS, including serial numbers, maintenance history, and warranty information.
  • Manage and respond to equipment maintenance requests using Jira.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all critical equipment and facilities to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, mitigate potential risks, minimize downtime, and maximize equipment lifespan.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment, monitor performance metrics, and develop strategies to improve efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and consumables necessary for equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Manage facility-related services such as janitorial, gas deliveries, lab coats and waste disposal to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
  • Identify and address facility issues promptly, including repairs, safety hazards, and infrastructure improvements.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of facility expansion, space planning, renovation, or relocation projects, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Uphold and promote a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement across the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, facilities management, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in facilities management, equipment maintenance, or a similar role, preferably in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical setting.
  • Strong technical aptitude with proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing laboratory equipment.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as FDA, cGMP, and OSHA regulations pertaining to facilities and equipment maintenance.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to respond to emergencies or off-hours maintenance as needed.
  • This position may require occasional lifting of heavy equipment and working in various environmental conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office and Computerized
  • Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) preferred.
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.

Compensation

The specific compensation package for this role depends on experience, qualifications and level. We anticipate the compensation range to be $105,000 to $120,000 per year.
