About The Role

We’re seeking a skilled technician to apply innovative balancing techniques to flight-weight hardware and rotating components, oversee balancing cell operations, and troubleshoot complex assemblies. You’ll bring proven expertise in low- and high-speed balancing theory, setup, tooling, and vibration-critical assembly processes—ensuring our rotors meet tight industry standards for tolerance and machine testing. What You’ll Do

  • Perform static and dynamic balancing on flexible, high-speed rotors to ensure optimal performance
  • Operate and maintain advanced prototyping and metrology equipment (e.g., balancing machinery, 3D printers, scanners)
  • Support the setup of new manufacturing and testing facilities, refining processes and work instructions alongside the engineering team
  • Lead manufacturing, final assembly, and qualification of Whisper propulsors, guaranteeing reliability and precision
  • Collaborate with design teams to integrate balancing best practices early in the product development process

Basic Qualifications

  • Must hold US Person status
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in a technical environment
  • Skilled at interpreting mechanical drawings and CAD models (including GD&T), producing precision parts, and providing actionable feedback to engineering teams
  • Strong command of balancing theory, backed by industry standards and best practices
  • Proven ability to develop specialized balance procedures for new hardware designs
  • Adept at diagnosing balancing issues and implementing effective solutions
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to train and mentor junior team members

Bonus Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in commissioning and calibrating new balance machines
  • Skilled in designing tooling to boost repeatability and reduce processing time
  • Familiarity with detailed surface finishing processes (e.g., model making, automotive bodywork, 3D print post-processing)
  • Proficient in programming, setup, and operation of various rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing equipment
