About the Role

Sidecar Health is hiring a Senior Manager, Finance Operations to lead a team of accountants and manage critical finance functions including invoicing, revenue recognition, and payroll processing. This is a high-impact role focused on automating processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls to support the company's growth and compliance initiatives.

What You'll Do

  • Manage and support a strong team of accountants in various finance operations areas, including but not limited to premium invoicing and accounts receivable, revenue recognition, accounts payable and accrued expenses, provider payments, payroll/benefits processing, accounting, and reporting
  • Automate reports through collaboration with data, engineering, and product teams to streamline the accounting process
  • Finalize and review financial records and reconciliations for monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting periods
  • Develop, document, and enhance business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Partner with Finance leadership to ensure robust and timely financial reviews, monitoring of budgets, and preparation of budget-to-actuals. Support external audits and tax compliance, including the preparation of work papers and other documentation as needed
  • Work closely with the VP of Finance to ensure policies and procedures comply with professional standards and audit and regulatory requirements
  • Assist senior team members with ad-hoc projects and process improvement initiatives

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with CPA certification; a graduate degree is preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in Accounting, including work at other hyper-growth companies. Public Accounting experience is a plus
  • 3+ years of applicable people management experience
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • Finance Operations experience (AP, Billing, AR, Payroll, etc.)
  • Prior experience working with NetSuite or major Accounting ERP systems
  • High level of self-motivation with the ability to manage priorities and work independently
  • Poised and able to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, with attention to detail and a high regard for precision
  • High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential issues
  • Innovative thinker with the ability to recommend unique solutions to address complex problems
  • Professional “can do” work ethic, with the ability to handle many conflicting tasks
  • Capable of building successful relationships with partners
  • Advanced Excel skills with experience handling large and complex data sets
  • Experience building Excel models and reports using complex formulas
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams across time zones

Sidecar Health adopts a market-based approach to compensation, where base pay varies depending on location and is further influenced by job-related skills and experience. The current expected salary range for this position is $130,000 - $160,000.
