About the Role

As Senior Counsel, Group Markets, you will play a crucial role in growing our group insurance products by supporting our Sales, Operations, and Account Management teams by providing legal guidance on employee benefit design processes and compliance with applicable laws. Your expertise in ERISA, cafeteria plans, the Affordable Care Act, and employee benefits will be essential in helping us navigate the complexities of the industry and ensure we are providing the best possible solutions for our employer customers.

What You’ll Do

• Deliver legal advice and support to Sales (Channel and Sales Operations) and Account Management (AM) on group health plan benefit design and regulatory requirements
• Advise on regulatory requirements, including requirements related to insurance, tax, and benefits
• Provide legal support in the negotiation and drafting of contracts and agreements related to employee benefits
• Provide succinct, practical, and results-oriented legal advice that appropriately balances risk
• Address and solve complex issues in a clear and concise manner

What You’ll Bring

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree Required
• 7+ years of related experience in employee benefits, ERISA, and compliance
• Admitted to practice or eligible for in-house counsel registration
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
• Ability to present complex issues in a clear and concise manner
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Excellent judgment
