Role Description:

The Senior Manager, Freight Operations will be responsible for the operational and commercial management of ShipBob-managed freight (FTL, LTL, Ocean, etc.). This position will head ShipBob’s go-forward freight management strategy will include managing a team of multiple freight specialists managing bookings, on-time performance, cost, and quality.

What you’ll do:

Deliver ShipBob’s freight cost and quality goals though sustainable mechanisms and team development.

  • Partner closely with Transportation Procurement, Finance, and Operations leadership to optimize ShipBob’s cost per mile and line haul utilization metrics.
  • Sustain/Maintain 99%+ On Time Departure and Arrival performance for ShipBob linehaul movements.
  • Ensure ShipBob’s customer and merchant-facing SLAs match the obligations of its transportation service providers.
  • Partner with Operations and brokers to manage carrier selection, quality, and execution
  • Own carrier-facing governance mechanisms including daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting and business reviews.
  • Own freight compliance and risk management on behalf of ShipBob.
  • Build, manage develop, and inspire a high-performing Freight team.
  • Other duties/responsibilities as necessary.

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics/Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business Management.
  • Minimum of 5 years in Logistics Management across freight (LTL/FTL) networks.
  • 5+ years of experience working with various cross functional teams locally and globally.
  • Project management experience in the development, implementation, and management of various size projects.
  • Familiarity with federal / local regulations related to freight movement.

ShipBob believes in transparency while providing a competitive total compensation package with a pay for performance approach. The full base pay range for this position in our compensation architecture is $107,221 – 178,701.
