About the role

Join the Sana AI search team to shape the future of knowledge work from enterprise search to intelligent agents. Our goal is to enable humans and agents to understand, find, and act on any piece of information, regardless of format. To achieve this we are reconsidering the traditional enterprise search stack from the ground up to be inherently multi-modal and leverage the latest developments in LLMs.

You’ll work on all aspects of our search backend that powers both enterprise search and agentic workflows. This role requires a deep understanding of modern retrieval systems, ranking models and solid backend/data engineering skills as well as an understanding of generative AI.

In this role, you will

• Design and implement core search and retrieval system.

• Ensure high system performance, scalability and reliability.

• Develop ranking models using rigorous experimentation and evaluation.

• Use the latest language modeling techniques to improve search results.

Your background looks something like

• Proven experience in developing and managing large-scale search and retrieval systems (e.g., Vespa, Elastic Search).

• Skilled in optimizing performance and scalability for efficient data processing.

• Hands-on experience with data processing or workflow orchestration frameworks (e.g., Airflow, Apache Beam, Temporal).

• Systematic, first-principles and data-driven approach to problem solving.

• Familiarity with latest language modeling techniques relevant to search (e.g., LLMs, BERT, ColPali)
