About the Role

People are one of Pinecone’s main competitive advantages. Our team is outstanding. We’re focused on creating an equally outstanding experience for them. That means ensuring Pinecone remains a wonderful and collaborative place of work as it scales.

As a Staff-level HRBP, you play a crucial role in supporting the Go-To-Market team, which includes the Sales, Marketing, and Field Engineering functions. You will shape the future of Pinecone by serving as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to employees, managers, and directors, aligning HR strategies with business objectives, nurturing talent, providing guidance on talent management, employee relations, and organizational development initiatives. You will build strong relationships with employees at all levels, enabling you to maintain a pulse on employee sentiment and proactively identify areas for improvement. In partnership with GTM leaders, you will drive employee development, performance management, organizational effectiveness, and a top-notch employee experience. This role will be onsite in our San Francisco office 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Build trust and credibility with leaders in the Go-To-Market team by providing strategic HR partnership, consultative support, and data-driven insights to drive business objectives.

  • Develop a deep understanding of the Go-To-Market team's goals, challenges, and talent needs, and collaborate with leaders to design and implement tailored HR solutions.

  • Proactively engage with employees at all levels, fostering open communication channels and actively soliciting feedback to identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Serve as a champion for company culture.

  • Partner with the broader HR team to drive talent acquisition, employee development, performance management, and compensation strategies aligned with the Go-To-Market team's needs.

  • Members at all levels and locations should feel supported, challenged, engaged, safe and empowered to contribute at their best.

  • Create internal communications and activities that promote a positive culture of collaboration, autonomy, empathy, inclusion, and excellence.

  • Participate in cross-departmental HR initiatives as needed, not limited to those supporting the Go-To-Market organization.

What we look for:

  • Experience in high-growth startups wearing many different hats

  • At least 10 years of experience in a dedicated HR role, including at least 4 years in an HRBP role

  • Experience supporting Go To Market, especially sales

  • Strategic mindset and hands-on attitude

  • Proven track record of quickly building rapport with employees and management

  • Working knowledge of multiple disciplines, including compensation practices, employee L&D and manager training programs, DEI initiatives, performance management, and US labor laws, as well as recent changes and trends in employment practices

  • You thrive on autonomy, move fast, can wear multiple hats, and challenge the norm

Ideally, experience supporting the full employee life-cycle
