Are you a backend engineer with a fondness for production? An SRE who also likes to design and code? Observable is seeking a full-time infrastructure engineer to help design, build, and manage Observable’s cloud systems as we accelerate and grow. What You Will Do

• Design and implement new infrastructure and processes to support Observable’s growing cloud services and features.
• Perform site reliability and ops work for existing Observable production and staging environments. (Manage servers! Tweak WAF rules! Optimize SQL queries! And more!)
• Participate in the dev team’s oncall rotation, monitoring Observable systems and responding to production issues.

• Databases: PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Airbyte, and our own architecture of data connectors and data loaders to a variety of backends
  
  

What You Will Bring

• 8+ years of related experience working with production systems, Cloud providers, containers (Docker, Kubernetes), security best practices, etc
• An enthusiasm for data, visualization, and technology.
