Procurement Analyst
Harness
Harness is the AI Software Delivery Platform company, led by technologist and entrepreneur Jyoti Bansal (founder of AppDynamics, acquired by Cisco for $3.7B). Harness has raised approximately $570M in funding and is valued at $5.5B, backed by leading investors including Goldman Sachs, Menlo Ventures, IVP, Unusual Ventures, Citi Ventures, and more. As AI accelerates code creation, the real bottleneck has shifted to everything after the code – testing, deployments, application security, reliability, compliance, and cost optimization. Harness brings AI and automation to this “outer loop,” helping teams ship software faster while maintaining security and governance throughout the entire software delivery lifecycle.
Powered by Harness AI and the Software Delivery Knowledge Graph, the Harness Platform applies deep context and intelligent automation across the software delivery lifecycle with governance and policy-driven controls embedded throughout the platform.
Over the past year, Harness powered over 185M deployments, 82M builds, 18T flag evaluations, 8M security scans, 9.1B optimized tests, 3T protected API calls, and helped manage $2.8B in cloud spend — enabling customers like United Airlines, Morningstar, and Choice Hotels to accelerate releases by up to 75%, reduce cloud costs by up to 60%, and achieve 10x DevOps efficiency.
With a global team across 14 offices and 25 countries, Harness is shaping the future of AI software delivery — and we’re looking for exceptional talent to help us move even faster.
Position Summary
We are looking for a high-energy Procurement Analyst to join our Strategic Sourcing team. The Procurement Analyst plays a vital role in supporting the organization's sourcing and procurement operations through data analysis, process optimization, and supplier performance evaluation.
You will navigate the complexities of a hyper-growth software environment. This role will focus on optimizing SaaS stacks, negotiating with cutting-edge vendors, and moving at the speed of a deployment cycle.
About the role
- Strategic Sourcing: Lead the end-to-end procurement motions for various departments, with a heavy focus on SaaS, Cloud Infrastructure (AWS/GCP), and Professional Services.
- Data Alchemy: Analyze complex spend data to identify savings opportunities, vendor consolidation points, and process bottlenecks.
- Negotiation & Contract Management: Partner with Legal to get the best Commercial and Legal terms.
- Stakeholder Partnership: Become a trusted advisor to internal teams to ensure they have the tools they need to innovate, without the bureaucratic headache.
- Lifecycle Management: Partner with the rest of the Procurement team on the "Source-to-Pay" lifecycle, ensuring our internal systems (ZIP, Netsuite, etc.) are accurate and efficient.
About you
- The Experience: 3–5 years in procurement or strategic sourcing, ideally within a high-growth tech environment or a fast-paced consultancy.
- Tech Stack: You’re proficient with modern procurement tools (e.g., Coupa, Zip).
- Working Style: You understand the pace of the Software industry. You are comfortable with ambiguity and can pivot as fast as our product roadmap does.
- Knowledge Base: You can explain a "Net-30" vs. "Net-60" payment term to a developer and a "Co-termination" strategy to a CFO with equal clarity.
- A Negotiator: You have a "get it done" attitude and a track record of achieving significant cost avoidance without burning vendor bridges.
Work Location
- Ideally the person is located in the Bay Area but we will consider applicants located within the United States.
