What is this opportunity?
We are seeking a visionary Group Lead to manage multidisciplinary teams that focus on propelling our main product to new heights. The Software Engineering Group Lead will lead diverse teams, including back-end, front-end, and full-stack developers, data scientists, data analysts, QA engineers, and even psychologists.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
- Oversee an engineering group, including team leads, developers, and QA professionals.
- Develop and mentor team leads and individual contributors, fostering career growth and skill development.
- Drive a strong culture of ownership, accountability, and innovation within the teams.
Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Collaborate with Product, R&D, and other stakeholders to define the engineering strategy and roadmap.
- Translate high-level business objectives into actionable plans for the teams.
- Ensure the successful and timely delivery of projects while balancing technical quality and business needs.
Engineering Excellence:
- Advocate for and implement best practices in software development, architecture, and engineering processes.
- Set and enforce quality standards, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability of solutions.
- Drive innovation and stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and methodologies.
- Ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of a large-scale SaaS production environment by implementing the best practices for monitoring, incident management, and continuous improvement.
Operational Efficiency:
- Manage engineering capacity planning and resource allocation to meet project demands.
- Establish KPIs and metrics to measure team performance and identify improvement opportunities.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in managing cross-functional teams, including team leads, Data Scientists, QA and Full Stack Engineering (Engineers)
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering
- Proven ability to think creatively and drive innovation that have improved business outcomes or contributed to growth.
- Solid understanding of software development processes and successful, timely, and high-quality delivery, from goal setting and planning to deployments.
- Managing performance and engineering excellence by tracking and optimizing engineering KPI’s
- Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills.
- Expertise in front-end, back-end, databases, cloud platforms, and DevOps practices
- A collaborative and results-oriented mindset, strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate ambiguity.
