About the role

Betterment for Advisors is a leading RIA custodian that empowers financial advisors to grow their businesses and deliver personalized planning services to clients. We are at the forefront of wealth management technology, and pride ourselves on delivering exceptional products to the independent firms we serve.

Betterment’s B4A Marketing Team is seeking a driven marketer to lead the development and implementation of demand generation strategies for our rapidly growing advisor business line.

Reporting to our Sr. Advisor Marketing Manager and working closely with the broader Acquisition Marketing and Betterment for Advisors organizations, you will be expected to ensure top-of-funnel lead generation and manage our media buying processes. You will also be the go-to expert on all things marketing automation, building our lead routing, scoring, and nurture practices using Hubspot.

This role is based out of our NYC office. Below we've reflected the base salary range we would offer for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Betterment’s total compensation package for employees.

  • New York City: $110,000 - $125,000

This job may also be eligible for variable compensation in the form of a company incentive bonus. For jobs based out of our NYC HQ, we require in office attendance Tuesday through Thursday, weekly.

A day in the life

  • Develop and implement full-funnel B2B demand generation programs in partnership with Advisor Marketing team lead to reach ideal customers, increase brand awareness, and drive customer acquisition
  • Design and optimize multi-channel campaigns to drive qualified inbound pipeline growth
  • Own lead generation and pipeline targets
  • Steer lead nurture and scoring practices, partnering closely with Marketing Operations and Sales
  • Collaborate closely with Content team, designers, and subject matter experts to produce compelling inbound content
  • Manage quarterly budget and media planning end-to-end, from vendor vetting to tracking and paid channel performance analysis
  • Ensure consistent alignment with Sales on target accounts and lead quality
  • Establish closed-loop analytics with Sales to understand how our inbound marketing activity turns into customers, and continually refine conversion strategies
  • Use data-driven analysis to identify trends, measure campaign effectiveness, and inform decision-making
  • Present campaign insights and performance reporting to stakeholders across Marketing and Sales leadership

What we’re looking for

  • 5+ years experience in B2B demand generation at a high-growth SaaS startup
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Business acumen with a focus on quantitative goals
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills
  • Experience with media planning and allocating budgets toward brand awareness and lead generation tactics for B2B businesses
  • Experience managing to a revenue target and building a tops-down plan to ensure pipeline generation
  • Experience using Hubspot and Salesforce (or similar marketing automation and CRM systems)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, draw insights, and optimize campaign strategies for the greatest down-funnel impact
  • Collaborative team player who excels at building relationships and has a desire to learn
  • Experience working with financial advisors or in the financial sector a plus, but not required

What happens next

In the interview process, we’ll look to learn more about your skills, experiences, capabilities, and motivators. Many of our questions will be aimed at understanding how you might operate here at Betterment. Depending on the role, we may ask you to complete a case study exercise or technical assessments, as we want to collect a robust set of data points to better inform our decisions.

On average, it takes us around 3-5 weeks to make a hiring decision, depending on your availability and sense of urgency. As a best practice, we aim to interview at least 2-3 final round candidates before making a hiring decision.
