Description
Astrix Security protects organizations from identity-based attacks through AI agents and non-human identities that operate autonomously across cloud and SaaS environments. We're looking for a Technical Lead to architect and build the backend foundation of our AI agent security platform: designing the core systems that discover, model, and secure machine identities that outnumber humans 10:1 in enterprise environments yet remain largely invisible to traditional security tools.
About the role
- Design and implement backend services for discovering and inventorying AI agents, autonomous systems, and non-human identities across AWS, GCP, Azure, and 30+ SaaS platforms
- Investigate emerging AI agent frameworks and platforms (LangChain, AutoGPT, enterprise AI tools) to stay ahead of the threat landscape and build integrations before they become attack vectors
- Unify disparate identity and permission models from dozens of platforms into a cohesive security data model that enables cross-platform risk analysis.
- prototype novel approaches to AI agent behavior analysis - you'll be exploring detection methods that don't exist yet, from behavioral fingerprinting to anomaly detection for autonomous systems
- Architect scalable ingestion pipelines that process millions of events daily to track AI agent behavior and detect anomalies.
- Develop APIs and services for monitoring AI agent risk, analyzing behavior patterns, and automated remediation workflows.
- Make critical architectural decisions on data models, service boundaries, and scaling approaches.
- Work directly with product, core team and application team, security research to turn customer security challenges into platform capabilities.
Requirements
- 5+ years building production backend systems, with experience in security, identity/IAM, cloud infrastructure, or related domains
- Strong proficiency in backend languages (Preferably Python or TypeScript) with a track record of shipping production code
- Proven ability to design and own complex backend systems end-to-end, especially systems involving high-cardinality data, authorization modeling, or multi-tenant architectures. You've designed data models for relationship graphs, security entities, or permission hierarchies.
- Deep understanding of identity and permission systems with strong technical curiosity: you can analyze new platforms to understand their identity models and API behaviors, and you're capable figuring out security implications in systems without established patterns
- Experience with cloud provider APIs (AWS IAM, GCP IAM, Azure AD) or the ability to master them quickly through documentation and experimentation
- Data modeling expertise: you've designed schemas for relationship graphs, security entities, permission hierarchies, or other complex domain models
- Ownership mindset: you take end-to-end responsibility for what you build and follow through from design to production
