As a Genomics Core Scientist in the Functional Genomics team you will have prior experience in Illumina NGS technologies, RNAseq library preparation (both single-cell and bulk), molecular cloning, cell engineering and lentivirus production while having a proven track record of implementing cutting-edge genomics technologies and methodologies.

About You

We are in search of a dedicated and skilled Genomics Core Scientist to contribute to our functional genomics research. The selected individual will be tasked with performing a wide range of genomic technologies including, but not limited to, Illumina NGS, single-cell and bulk RNA sequencing library preparation, molecular cloning, cell line engineering and lentivirus production. This role is designed for an individual contributor with a profound knowledge of genomic methodologies and their application in biological research.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in Illumina NGS technologies, RNAseq library preparation (both single-cell and bulk), molecular cloning, cell engineering and lentivirus production
  • Experience working in a core facility or laboratory, including staff supervision and inventory and budget management
  • Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in bioinformatics tools and data analysis software relevant to genomics research
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with research teams and train staff effectively
  • Proven track record of implementing cutting-edge genomics technologies and methodologies
  • B.S./M.S. with a minimum of 8 years of experience (or a PhD with a minimum of 4 years of experience) in Functional Genomics, Molecular Biology, Genetics, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Perform high-quality NGS library preparations, including single-cell and bulk RNAseq, and engage in molecular cloning, sequencing, cell line engineering and lentivirus production to support research projects. Optimize protocols for efficiency and effectiveness
  • Experience with automation engineers and research biologists to design and implement robust and scalable workflows, thereby increasing the efficiency and throughput of genomic analyses

Compensation

The specific compensation package for each role depends on factors including experience, qualifications and level. We anticipate the range for this role to be $115,000 to $170,000 per year.
