Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning and Execution:
  • Oversee and manage full mining operations including tailings reprocessing, SX/EW, concentrators, reclamation, dust control, maintenance, engineering, and surface infrastructure maintenance across multiple sites.
  • Lead the development and execution of long-term strategic mining plans to achieve company goals and objectives.
  • Spearhead innovative projects aimed at improving safety, operational efficiency, and sustainability.
  • Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Initiatives:
  • Ensure collaboration with engineering teams to unveil the zero tailings and zero emission technologies on site.
  • Technology and Automation:
  • Lead the Mine Autonomy and Process Automation strategy, fostering innovation and leveraging technology to improve operations.
  • Engage with OEMs like Komatsu and Caterpillar to integrate the latest technologies in mining operations.
  • Operational Performance:
  • Oversee daily mining operations ensuring that production targets are met efficiently.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and benchmark against industry standards to identify areas for improvement.
  • Financial Management:
  • Manage the mining operations budget, ensuring cost control and optimizing the allocation of resources.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of CAPEX and OPEX for mining operations.
  • Community and Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Engage with local communities and stakeholders to ensure that mining operations are carried out responsibly.
  • Represent the company in industry forums, government engagements, and other external relations activities as needed.
  • Safety Culture:
  • Instill a culture of safety within the mining operations department, ensuring adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Drive the development and implementation of safety programs, aiming at reducing incidents and ensuring a safe work environment.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Lead cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives across the mining operations.
  • Promote the adoption of best practices and lean methodologies to improve operational efficiency and productivity.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or related field. An advanced degree is a plus.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in mining operations, with at least 10 years in a leadership role.
  • Extensive experience with open pit mining operations and related technologies.
  • Proven track record of managing large teams and complex projects.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in managing large budgets.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with ESG initiatives in the mining industry is a strong advantage.
