Who we’re looking for

At Fieldwire, we’re looking for an engineering manager in the U.S. (remote or San Francisco), to lead the team of 9 or so engineers and analysts working to support the engineering Platform: Infrastructure, CI/CD, Data Lake, Security, and IT for Fieldwire. We are looking for a leader who is clearly technically involved, leading by example, and capable of diving deep to problem solve with their engineers, make technical recommendations and provide constructive feedback.

The engineering managers at Fieldwire are essentially tasked with building great teams, delivering great products, and animating the life of their engineering squad.

You will represent your team internally and work cross-functionally with other leaders to shape the vision of Fieldwire and how we can work together as one organization to create the best Construction Management Platform in the world! As the Manager of the engineering team, you will be leading a group that is responsible for building and maintaining our product that’s already used on over 1 Million projects globally to help prop up the world’s infrastructure and truly change people’s lives for the better daily.

What you’ll be doing

You will lead the “Platform and IT” team, to:

• Design and build the Cloud-infrastructure needed to run our cutting edge distributed SaaS application
• Design and build a Data Lake servicing the analytics needed by consumers across the company, including Engineering to fine-tune our systems, and Go-to-Market professionals to maximize product growth.
• Oversee the Security of the platform, setting up appropriate cloud infra scanning tools, evaluating findings, and coordinating the resulting security improvements.
• Integrate the IT support of Fieldwire within the Platform/Security squad, finding synergies to optimize onboarding, access management, and security governance
• Keep our platform up to date with the latest and greatest frameworks and tools

At Fieldwire, we’re looking for our next Engineering Manager to have the following skills and experiences:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
• 2+ years experience in an engineering management role
• Experience with Python, Golan, Rust, or equivalents
• Excellent communication skills, able to represent your team to a wide-variety of audiences with varying levels of technical fluency
• Experience building a diverse team while fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment
• Familiar with complicated software architectures of high concurrency and scale, preferably in SaaS and web environments

Compensation:

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows: $195,000 - $220,000

The salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this job in the US. Minimums and Maximums may vary based on location. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors such as your skills, qualifications and experience. In addition to the salary you may be eligible for a corporate bonus which can range up to 20%.

Where is the job located?

This role is on-site in San Francisco, California or fully remote within the United States. Our headquarters is based in beautiful San Francisco and our office is centrally located right off of Embarcadero Bart station.
