Betterment is a leading, technology-driven financial services company that offers investing and retirement solutions for retail investors and investment advisors as well as financial wellness solutions, including a 401(k) for small and medium-sized businesses. Our team is passionate about our mission: making people’s lives better. We’re headquartered in NYC, and offer hybrid NY-based (three days/ week in-office) and select, non-NY-based remote positions.
About the role
Betterment is looking to bring on a Business Systems Analyst within the RevOps organization to support our Betterment at Work platforms and teams.
As the Business Systems Analyst, you will report to the Director of Business Systems and be responsible for supporting the various platforms and systems used across the customer lifecycle - from lead capture and nurturing through to ongoing customer support. The person in this role will play a crucial role by gathering and defining requirements for new projects, ensuring implemented features meet the needs of the various teams through rigorous testing, and providing ongoing support and training as needed once new features are live.
We are looking for someone who will be able to learn and grow quickly by understanding our current setup — a foundation of tools, platforms, and processes — and help to unlock efficiencies and improve the day to day for other internal teams. The ideal candidate will effectively communicate with members of the Revenue Operations team, deliver projects and tasks in an efficient manner and consistently seek out ways to improve how we use our systems.
This role is based out of our NYC office. Below we've reflected the base salary range we would offer for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Betterment’s total compensation package for employees.
- New York City: $100,000 - $115,000
We offer a competitive equity package, health, dental and vision benefits, life and AD&D, short-term and long-term disability insurance, EAP, commuter and parking benefits FSA/HSA, and 401(k) with employer match as well as a flexible PTO policy. This job may also be eligible for variable compensation in the form of a company incentive bonus. For jobs based out of our NYC HQ, we require in office attendance Tuesday through Thursday, weekly.
A day in the life
- Facilitate stakeholder conversations to better understand the wants and needs of each department, focusing on MarTech systems and technology.
- Translate business needs into technical requirements for use by the technical team to implement.
- Ensure new features meet or exceed requirements of the various business units.
- Onboard and train team members on new features and how they fit into the overall process, thoroughly documenting each step along the way.
- Research and mitigate (either by addressing directly or working with other team members) new, urgent issues that arise.
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis of historical and current data to identify patterns and opportunities for optimization.
- Collaborate with other members of the RevOps and Business Systems team to identify gaps and bottlenecks in existing processes, and propose tactical improvements for increased efficiency.
- Cultivate strong cross-functional relationships with the Marketing, Sales, and Post-sales teams.
What we’re looking for
- 3-5 years of experience in business analysis, requirements gathering, quality assurance, business systems operations or a similar analytical role, preferably in a technology or SaaS company.
- Knowledge of enterprise-level marketing automation and CRM tooling, HubSpot and Salesforce preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with multiple teams.
- Quick learning skills with good organizational capabilities and the ability to handle multiple tasks and shifting priorities effectively.
