The Sales Development Representative is responsible for qualifying leads that build pipeline for the sales organization. A key requirement is to conduct business dealings with prospects in a way that creates a superior experience that will set the stage for future product sales for Comprehend. This position is based in Redwood City, CA.


  • Learn and demonstrate a fundamental understanding of our suite of applications
  • Prospect into multiple organizations via cold-calling, contact-specific (1:1) and account-specific (1:few) e-mail/LinkedIn sequences (ABM) to build and manage pipeline (~20-30 calls/emails per day)
  • Articulate Comprehend’s value proposition in online meetings to senior decision-makers and influencers to educate them about our software and qualify their organization’s buying interest
  • Collaborate effectively with Comprehend’s account executives to align efforts and provide a first-rate experience for prospects
  • Achieve or exceed goal for sales opportunities generated on a quarterly basis
  • Provide baseline research within targeted accounts to identify key contacts and critical account information prior to outreach
  • Contribute to every component of the critical functions associated with fulfilling marketing and sales funnels (forecasting, reporting, customer database maintenance and data entry, correspondence, and communications)
  • Report weekly activity to management. Record interaction in SFDC throughout


  • 2+ years experience in sales, business development or marketing in tech; compensation commensurate with experience
  • Evidence of continuous learning and self-direction (e.g., side projects, online learning)
  • Ability to understand and successfully promote SaaS applications
  • Confidence to converse with and influence senior personnel at large public companies
  • Excellent communication skills - written, verbal, listening
  • Ability to work independently in an entrepreneurial, start-up environment
