Technical Program Manager - Operations at Eero

Job overview:

The Technical Program Manager - Operations is responsible for working with eero’s contract manufacturers to establish and continually improve processes to reduce cost and improve quality. Their role starts from the concept phase of eero development through ramp. A broad scope is required, focused on new production introduction which spans numerous aspects of manufacturing and operations, including DFx, BOM management, solder quality expertise, board assembly process, factory bone pile debug processes, product configuration FATP line setup, and process qualifications. Understanding how a design change impacts manufacturing is critical for success.


What you’ll do:


  • Liaise with hardware/product engineering during NPI as DRI to the CM for DFx, SMA and FATP
  • Manage post-ramp qualifications of product changes due to design, quality, supply chain, and/or cost reductions
  • Create and evaluate tools, fixtures, machines, to support eero’s manufacturing
  • Perform design of experiments to root cause manufacturability or assembly issues
  • Engage with OEM manufacturing partners to develop, ramp, and introduce products. Develop rapport with partners and gain detailed knowledge of "how the factory works” with its capabilities and limitations
  • Manage BOM via change orders from EV through Rev A to ensure product hygiene at CM
  • Travel to China and provide the in-person leadership required to bring a product to market
  • Provide support coverage for other products and suppliers in the region – willingness to engage with suppliers outside your normal skillset to drive issue resolution
  • Manage China based resources remotely
  • Create and communicate project status updates to various project stakeholders, including team members and executives within eero and OEMs
  • Always push the leading edge of innovation and excellence in eero products and manufacturing processes
  • Demonstrate exceptional ability to build relationships and exert effective influence in a matrix organization


We’re looking for someone who has:


  • 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience
  • A willingness to travel to China 2-3 weeks per quarter
  • 4+ years of experience in NPI operations program management; experience in consumer electronics is a plus
  • 2+ years of experience with an overseas manufacturer; experience in China is a plus
  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes; experience with RF products will be a plus
  • Exceptional communication skills (in English, Mandarin is a plus) - verbal, written and technical communication
